I was beginning to think I was seeing things but apparently others have had the same visions of Kal Penn in the new Star Trek (which you should go see BTW unless you're a crazy purist Trekkie)

Guess I'll have to wait until I can slow it down on DVD to know for sure.

Saw the show on Saturday night, if you enjoy music or video games I highly recommend checking it out :)

It's amazing how many of those old games I recognized and remembered the music to (those that had music anyway).

That is totally my all time favorite president but I'm not sure about the secretary of energy but she probably couldn't make things any worse.\

I wish the online version had pictures like the actual paper did, oh well.

Apparently John McCain was in town today. I got to see a motorcade with SEVERAL van fulls of MIB (and WIB) pass by. All decked out with shades and everything. It was very surreal.

If they don't at least mention the whole Peter's girlfriend lost in the future thing next week I will be very upset with the writers.

I feel as though it is my duty to pass this on.

Find out which Transformer you are at LiquidGeneration!

No that can't be right at all. I'm not a buzzkill damnit! And I've never even heard of Red Alert (I used to be a fan)

BTW a couple warnings on this quiz. Beware of evil popups and slightly crude content even in the quiz itself.

On a related note Transformers (the new one) looked really cool but some of it was extremely goofy. Guess they were trying to really up the kid appeal. And here I thought us children of the 80's would be the demographic.

Last year I was actually in pretty decent shape, which happens when you actually exercise on a regular basis. Then I took that design class and everything went to pot. Early in the year I optimisticallysigned up for a couple track events at Corporate Challenge thinking I'd have no trouble getting back into the swing of things. For those unaware KC Corporate Challenge is like a not-so-special Olympics where all the local companies compete in various events ranging from Darts to Volleyball. So anyway about a month and a half ago my company started organizing the track stuff and it turned out they had enough people without me so I decided to bow out figuring whoever the other people were they *had* to be better than me and so the cycle of slacking continued. Well not total slacking, I try to do a little something once a week but barely.

At least I'm pretty sure I'm better than this guy

(don't look directly at the shorts if you value your eyes)

Fast forward to exactly a week ago when I'm told I'm needed for the 800m run. Holy crap! I've never actually run track before, I just usually jog/run at the park so I was extra nervous in addition to my physical unpreparedness. I did some emergency sessions Saturday-Monday and decided to rest the remaining couple days. So anyway race day arrived and there was some confusion on my part about the start of the race. There were two different groups spaced apart and it was my understanding we'd get our own separate start after the guys in front went. Apparently that was not the case and I was in dead last from the get go. That was simply not acceptable so I passed about a 1/4 of the people early and decided to pace myself for the majority of the race since I didn't have a good feel for what speed I could really go at. The last 1/4 lap I turned on the speed and passed a bunch of people, I think I was somewhere in the middle which was kind of the goal I had all along. If I had paced my self better I would have been in much better position. I might not be in the greatest shape but I've always been able to push myself to the point of passing out... which brings us to the amusing/scary part of the story. After I was finished I stumbled around and realized that while my vision appeared to be clear EVERYONE's faces were blurry. It was a very freaky moment like something out of The Ring. I think I may have been a little close to fainting there.

Anyway, I'll find out actual placing tomorrow.

Hrm, two Star Wars posts in a row. Kind of weird since I don't consider myself a huge Star Wars nut... don't get me wrong, I mean sure I like the old movies.

Anyway I thought I'd share my final project in my design class. The task was to design a brochure. I was pressed for time but I guess it turned out ok. BTW the cookie image and following page about said cookies were shamelessly ripped from T-Shirt ads found on the 'net.

Got the pics working, thanks kaymyth
